Things to do and to see in Malta


Malta is located close to Sicily and north Africa. With an exceptional natural enironment, Malta offers a good mix of British and Italian culture.
Malta has many advantages for tourists, including : beaches, cliffs, medieval towns, archaeological sites and modern cities.
Just to save you some time, here are some of the best things to do in Malta.


• Historical places

1. Ggantija Temples

Malta has a lot of Temples. The one of Ggantja in Gozo is the one most visited.
These temples are older than the pyramids of Egypt, dating 3600 years BC, the site has stones up to 6 meters high and one weighing 50 tons. That’s why it is necessarily inscribed on the World Heritage List.

2. Hal Saflieni’s Hypogeum

Also listed by UNESCO, this time to the east of the capital, is the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum, another exceptional archaeological site.

3. Saint John’s Co-cathedral

Built in 1573, St John’s Co-cathedral is the most majestic religious building on the island of Malta. The Co-cathedral of Saint John is located in the heart of Valletta which is a major Maltese tourist attraction. This Cathedral is the work of the architect Girolamo Cassar and the Italian painter Mattia Preti for the decoration.

4. Paola’s Hypogeum

Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Paola Hypogeum is the main tourist attraction on the island and THE must-see in Malta. Built around 2,500 BC, the Paola Hypogeum is the oldest prehistoric underground temple discovered in the World.

1. La Blue Grotto

On the south coast of Malta, you can rent a boat with us (Boat Chartering Malta) and see the Blue Grotto. This is one of the things you should definitely check on your travel list before visiting Malta. The Blue Grotto it was named after a British soldier because of its resemblance to the Grotta Azzura in Capri. The sunlight on the caves and the dark blue water gives rare phosphorescent colours.
If you love diving, this is also the opportunity to do it in a unique spot.

2. Walking to the Dingli Clift

If you are more comfortable on land than in the water, then take a hike along the Dingli Cliffs and enjoy the beautiful view.

3. Ghajn Tuffieha Bay

And if you prefer to rest and relax, then go on the beach at Ghajn Tuffieha Bay, on northwest of Malta. If there is one thing to do in Malta, it is to enjoy its peace and quiet.

4. Gozo and Comino

Things to do in Gozo : Victoria, St. George’s basilica , the village of Xaghra, the beaches of Ramla Bay and Calypso’s cave.
Things to do in Comino (an island of 3km between Malta and Gozo): Enjoying the beaches and views, admire Blue Lagoon, rent a boat with us, go to diving spots and take nice pictures.

3. The village of Marsaxlokk

Another must see place in Malta is the fishing village of Marsaxlokk. With its bucolic harbour, its market, its colourful fronts, its narrow streets, you find yourself completely elsewhere


• Nightlife

If you prefer nightlife, Paceville district is the place for you – located in the heart of St. Julians. Where you will find over 40 bars, pubs and nightclubs.
